Shri Guru Gobind
Singhji Institute of Engineering and Technology, at Nanded (SGGS, in short) is
an autonomous institute set up and 100% funded by Government of
Maharashtra. The institute is approved
by the All India council for Technical Education (AICTE), Government of
India. SGGS was selected under prestigious TEQIP program of World Bank. The SGGS Institute of
Engineering and technology has the privilege of being one of the
selected few to be offered total autonomy- academic, financial and
administrative.
Mr. B.N. Kalyani, an eminent industrialist, heading the Kalyani Group
of Companies, has been nominated by the Government of Maharashtra as
Chairman of the Governing Board. The Government has also appointed renowned
personalities form business and industry, academics and its senior
administrative cadre on the Governing Board. The Institute will continue to
receive block grants from the Government of Maharashtra. |
The SGGS Institute of Engineering and Technology
enjoys a sprawling campus of over 46 acres, donated by Sant Baba
Harnam Singh Langer sahib Gurudwara trust and is affiliated to Swami
Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, Nanded. | |

National Program on Technology Enhanced Learning
The main objective of NPTEL program is to enhance the quality of
engineering education in the country by developing curriculum based
video and web courses. This is being carried out by seven IITs and
IISc Bangalore as a collaborative project. In the first phase of the
project, supplementary content for 129 web courses in
engineering/science and humanities have been developed. Each course
contains materials that can be covered in depth in 40 or more lecture
hours. In addition, 110 courses have been developed in video format,
with each course comprising of approximately 40 or more one-hour
lectures. In the next phase other premier institutions are also likely
to participate in content creation.
The NPTEL project, receives its funding support through the
National Mission on Education through Information and Communication
Technology (NMEICT) since the year 2009..
